Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our Nonprofit Services team. This position will primarily support one of our nonprofit clients but may also be involved in multiple client-facing engagements. The Staff Accountant will manage financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and provide essential support to our nonprofit clients, including expertise in Medicaid billing processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities for assigned nonprofit clients, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• Reconcile bank statements and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review. Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes for the nonprofit client.
• Coordinate Medicaid billing processes, including the preparation and submission of claims, ensuring compliance with Medicaid regulations and guidelines.
• Monitor Medicaid reimbursement activities and address any discrepancies or issues.
• Collaborate with program managers at the nonprofit client to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of Medicaid-funded activities.
• Provide support during annual audits and assist with audit preparation.
• Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices.
• Communicate effectively with clients and internal team members to ensure timely and accurate delivery of services.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit or government contract setting.
• Experience with Medicaid billing processes and reimbursement requirements.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary Range

$55,000 to $70,000 commensurate with experience
