The Assistant Farm Manager oversees and manages all areas of Gestation and Breeding including Electronic Sow Feeding System and all associated paperwork, records, and correspondence. Oversee and manage all aspects of the associated Gilt Isolation Unit. Ensure that all animals across the farms receive proper feed, water, ventilation, and bedding on a daily basis. Assist with all other aspects of the farm to ensure farm goals are met and tasks are completed on a daily basis. Complete ultrasounds at 28-day and 56-day post service, accurately recording and reporting. Ensure synchronization of gilts and sows to meet weekly breeding target. Responsible for accurate information in the NEDAP Electronic Sow Feeding System, including, but not limited to: Start Service Date, Feed Curves, BCS, Heat Check Recordings, etc.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Able to stand for several hours.
• Willing to work in wet and extreme hot and cold conditions.
• Willing and able to work around dust, animals, and various cleaning chemicals.
