Shipping and Receiving Supervisor | Hammond, IN
Temp-to-Hire Opportunity
This position requires an individual to have extensive knowledge of forklift operations with hands-on experience in Shipping and Receiving activities and storage. The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor’s daily functions include responsibility for safety, product quality control, food grade product safety, procedure compliance, personnel training, equipment operation, and inventory control under the direction of the Warehouse Operations & Assistant Operations Manager. The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor would be required to participate in spill response, hazardous waste storage and other environmental, health and safety sensitive activities.
Starting Pay: $18/DOE
Shift(s): M-F: 7 am to 3:30 pm
Requirements & Skills:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Computer qualified; proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word & Outlook.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift at least 25 lbs.
Primary Duties Include:
• Report operations activities and issues to the Assistant Warehouse Operations Manager.
• Coordinate daily work schedule for self and employees.
• Monitor environmental, health and safety activities.
• Prepare & review operating procedures and necessary forms.
• Training of Forklift Operators.
• Assist in fielding and responding to customer complaints.
• Prepare corrective and preventative action reports.
• Always promote and maintain good housekeeping practices. Serve as an ISO internal auditor and PWC Safety Team member.
• Ensure equipment is inspected and tested according to schedule, such as forklifts, Scales, pumps, filters, etc.
• Enforce operating and safety procedures.
• Oversee Shipping/Receiving operations.
• Oversee contractors working in the warehouse areas.
• Assist in monitoring and overseeing the maintenance and repair of warehouse infrastructure.
• Adhere to and follow companies' ISO Quality & Food Safety Management System operating and safety procedures.
• Promote good customer relations and satisfaction by meeting customer requirements in handling their product(s).
