Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired (VI) to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will play a key part in empowering students with visual impairments across Virginia, helping them develop the skills they need to succeed both academically and in their personal lives.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide engaging virtual lessons focused on academic growth and life skills for students with visual impairments.
Develop and implement personalized education plans (IEPs), ensuring each student's unique needs are met.
Collaborate with a diverse team of educators and specialists to design effective accommodations and strategies.
Incorporate adaptive technology and resources into lessons to enhance the learning experience.
Keep thorough records of student progress and maintain regular communication with parents and school staff to support student success.

Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or a related field.
Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
Previous experience working with students with visual impairments is preferred, but not required.
Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and virtually, with a flexible approach to problem-solving.
