Job Description
**Compensation Range $18-$21 per hour**
**VCA Arroyo Grande Animal Hospital** is a busy , small animal practice in Arroyo Grande, California. We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced **Veterinary Assistant/Room Technician** to join our team!
**Duties will include:**
**Tracking scheduled appointments**
**Assisting veterinarians; ensuring patients are served in a timely manner**
**Drawing up vaccines**
**Taking pet's vitals**
**Cleaning, stocking and maintaining exam rooms**
**Animal Restraint**
**Assist with technical and clerical duties as assigned**
**Maintaining medical records**
**Preparing surgical suite and surgical patients**
**Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging**
**Qualifications:**
**Must be able to lift 50 lbs.**
**At least one year of Veterinary Assistant, Veterinary Technician Assistant or Room Technician experience preferred**
**Must have great communication skills,**
**Must be a "people person" and have the ability to interact with clients, doctors, and staff.**
**Must have a flexible schedule, organized, able to handle high phone volume, able to multi-task and prioritize**
