You would a valuable team member, helping to ensure that day-to-day operations run seamlessly throughout the organization. Responsibilities * Process all new and used vehicles for registration in the state which they will be titled. Maintain a system to verify out-of-state titles. * Accurately prepare tax and title documents. * Submit all legal transfer work to the Department of Motor Vehicles. * Verify funds have been collected and the correct lienholder is paid off before processing title applications. * Ensure accuracy of title applications. * Compile and maintain a complete list of all outstanding title work. Report to management on the status of any missing or problem titles and provides a current list of outstanding titles to the Comptroller at the end of the month, or as requested. * Sign over titles for all wholesalers who have paid in full. * Keep current on all title regulations. * Conduct periodic training sessions for F&I managers and sales personnel regarding title regulations and procedures and issues a written memo to managers and sales personnel whenever regulations change. * Complete required training as requested by Knudtsen Chevrolet and GM. * Use Axcessa to communicate used vehicle title status. * Ensure all inventoried used vehicles have proper and correct title documents. * Order title work forms and UPS envelopes (POA 30 Day Permits). * Other tasks as assigned. Qualifications * Basic computer skills, working ability of Word, Excel, etc., and ability to learn database management software. * Proficient oral and written communication skills, and the ability to read and interpret documents. * Basic knowledge of accounting principles is preferred. * Have a valid driver’s license. * Pass a motor vehicle report and possess a safe driving record. * Pass a criminal background check and drug test. Also subject to random drug testing at the company’s request. The environment for the Title Clerk varies, but often is an office setting and working in a car showroom. The Title Clerk will be required to walk the dealership property and may encounter inclement weather. The Title Clerk may also enter the service areas and be exposed to dangerous work environments and loud noises. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
