**Job Title: TIG Welder** **Job Description** Join a veteran-owned custom fabrication facility specializing in non-ferrous fabrication. This facility partners with industries such as defense, aerospace, pharmaceutical, and automotive, offering a dynamic and diverse work environment. As a TIG Welder, you will work on a variety of projects ranging from small to very large pieces, primarily welding on sheet metal, stainless steel, and steel, while also engaging in fabrication and fitting tasks. **Responsibilities** + Perform TIG welding on sheet metal, stainless steel, and steel. + Engage in fabrication and fitting on fixtures and forming. + Read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols. + Set up and operate welding machines. + Pass weld tests in both flat and horizontal positions. **Essential Skills** + 5+ years of TIG welding experience in a prototype environment. + Proficiency in reading blueprints and welding symbols. + Experience working with materials such as sheet metal, stainless steel, and steel. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Fitting experience with the ability to pass a fitting test. + Experience in MIG welding. + Previous AWS certification. + Knowledge of different gases used with various welds. + Fabrication skills. **Why Work Here?** Experience a family-friendly atmosphere with opportunities for promotion from within. The role offers a probationary period with the potential for benefits upon direct hire. **Work Environment** The facility is clean and climate-controlled, featuring a job shop, CNC area, and welder area. The position operates on a 1st shift schedule, Monday through Thursday (4x10s) from 6am to 4:30pm, and Fridays (8-hour shifts). Time is slightly flexible, and while Saturday work is rare, project demands may occasionally require it. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesterfield, MI. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
