Job Overview:  
We are seeking a skilled Senior Level Test Engineer based in Newport News, VA. The Senior Testing Engineer is responsible for leading the testing and evaluation of largescale DoD systems, ensuring the successful implementation and integration of modifications and changes to the Distributed Learning System (DLS) Enterprise. This role requires a deep understanding of testing methodologies, requirements analysis, and systems integration, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions aligned with DoD standards. 

This position is contingent upon contract award.
 
Responsibilities:  
  • Test Strategy and Planning:
    • Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, plans, and procedures to evaluate system modifications and ensure alignment with program objectives.
    • Define testing acceptance criteria for proposed modifications and alterations to the DLS Enterprise.
    • Create and maintain detailed Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) to track project milestones and decision points.
  • System Evaluation and Analysis:
    • Conduct in-depth analysis of system designs, hardware configurations, and software solutions to identify potential risks and ensure readiness for testing.
    • Develop and execute evaluation plans, analyzing test results to provide actionable insights for system improvements.
    • Support test and evaluation efforts by providing technical expertise in requirements analysis, systems integration, and performance testing.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Develop and deliver clear and concise briefings, documentation, and decision papers to facilitate stakeholder approval of DLS modifications.
    • Maintain and update testing documentation, ensuring compliance with DoD and organizational standards.
    • Provide weekly updates on project progress, including work breakdowns, schedules, and decision milestones.
  • Collaboration and Technical Support:
    • Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure successful system integration, including hardware, software, and network components.
    • Provide technical support for technology and market research, ensuring alignment with emerging trends and best practices.
    • Act as a subject matter expert on testing methodologies, guiding junior team members and stakeholders in best practices.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements in testing and evaluation workflows, implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and DoD standards to continuously refine testing approaches.
Required Skills:
  • Experience in testing and evaluation of large DoD systems, with a focus on system modifications and integration. Proficiency in developing test strategies, plans, and documentation for complex systems.
  • Hands on experience with Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and requirements management tools. Strong programming and analytical skills, with expertise in PC/mainframe based scientific programming and database development.
  • Advanced knowledge of testing methodologies, requirements analysis, and systems integration. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering results within tight deadlines.
  • Travel up to 5%
Qualifications:  
  • Secret clearance level
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. 6+ Years experience.
  • Certified Software Testing Engineer (CSTE)
Desired Qualifications:
  • Certified Software Testing Engineer (CSTE) or equivalent and/or ISTQB Advanced Level Test Manager.
  • Familiarity with DoD testing frameworks and standards. Expertise in performance and functional testing tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or equivalent platforms.
  • Expertise in testing tools, methodologies, and integration of complex systems.
  • Strong ability to analyze test results, identify issues, and propose actionable solutions.
  • Exceptional presentation and documentation skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Meticulous approach to testing, ensuring high quality deliverables that meet organizational standards.
