Job Description

We are looking for a Software Tester in Columbas,OH who will be an integral member of a dynamic team responsible for planning, constructing, and executing a range of product and system tests. These tests include unit tests, load tests, volume tests, network tests, and product tests. This role will also collaborate with other team members to ensure the successful execution of release control processes. The position requires the ability to create detailed test models, troubleshoot testing issues, and integrate testing efforts into release cycles. The ideal candidate will have experience in an Agile environment, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of both technical and business aspects of testing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Test Creation & Execution:
  Plan, construct, and execute various types of tests including product tests, system tests, unit tests, load tests, volume tests, and network tests. Develop test models, scripts, and data sets to ensure comprehensive testing coverage.

• Test Planning & Release Control:
  Create test plans for product testing and manage the release control process. This includes defining product test plans, setting criteria for test acceptance, and ensuring adherence to release schedules.

• Collaboration & Communication:
  Work with cross-functional teams to manage the test environments, integrate with release control processes, and resolve issues. Provide clear and accurate status updates on testing progress, issues, and timelines.

• Quality Assurance:
  Ensure all testing efforts follow quality standards, and that tasks are completed within the estimated time frames. Resolve testing process questions and issues as they arise.

• Documentation & Process Improvement:
  Document test plans, test cases, and testing results. Work with the team lead to track time estimates and actuals for assigned tasks. Assist in updating and improving release installation procedures and overall testing methodologies.

• Skill Development:
  Actively work to enhance testing skills and build both technical and business knowledge. Stay updated with new industry developments and apply them where appropriate.

• Agile Process Support:
  Support Agile project management efforts, including using Agile tools (such as GIT and Azure) and following best practices for iterative testing within an Agile environment.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Education:
  A 4-year college degree is preferred.

• Test Creation & Execution:
  At least 3 years of experience creating test models (plans, data, and scripts) for product and release control testing.

• Data Analysis:
  3 years of experience in analyzing data elements within enterprise applications and understanding how these elements relate to each other.

• Microsoft Tools Proficiency:
  3 years of experience using Microsoft products, including SQL , PowerPoint , Excel , and Word .

• Business Requirements Analysis:
  3 years of experience analyzing both functional and non-functional business requirements.

• Versioning Tools:
  3 years of experience using versioning tools such as GIT or a comparable versioning tool.

• Communication Skills:
  Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and provide accurate status updates.

• Independence & Teamwork:
  Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Strong time management skills to meet deadlines and manage resources effectively.

• Testing Methodologies:
  Knowledge of formal requirements gathering methodologies (highly desired).
