Job Description

DESCRIPTION

Do you love setting direction and solving complex problems on behalf of your customers? The Books team is looking for a Sr. Product Manager to own the roadmap and strategy for how authors set up and publish their titles and provide new opportunities for them to earn royalties. In this role, you will own product planning, priorities and requirements working across a broad cross-functional team that includes engineering, UX, research science, customer service, business intelligence and more. Your work will have a tangible impact both on internal and external customers from customer service agents to content providers. As part of the books team, you will join a thriving business that has revolutionized reading and the way authors of any level engage the millions of readers that shop on Amazon.

The successful candidate is passionate about user experience and not constrained by what exists today. They must have proven experience inferring and translating customer needs into intuitive and simple solutions, the ability to ruthlessly prioritize, and skill in juggling a variety of deliverables while both staying connected to the details and thinking strategically.

Key job responsibilities
--Working backwards from research, anecdotes and data to define and document feature sets, requirements, and measures of success for your experiences.
--Setting and communicating a clear roadmap and direction in partnership with engineering teams, UX designers and other stakeholders.
--Identifying and highlighting key risks, tradeoffs and prioritization calls that balance delivery against risks and cost.
--Managing communication and driving decisions across stakeholders and leadership.

About the team
As part of KDP, you will join a thriving business that has revolutionized reading and the way authors of any level engage the millions of readers that shop on Amazon. As part of this team, you will work across functions to continuously innovate and improve author experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
