Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is partnered with a top U.S. non-profit professional association who is seeking an independent Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager to join their team for a critical end-of-year catch-up and clean-up project. This role involves balance sheet reconciliations, general journal entries, and audit readiness for the FY 2023 audit. 

Title: Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager
Location: Hybrid - Washington, DC
Hourly Rate: $45.00 - $50.00/hour
Job Type: Contract / Contract to Hire

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize Sage Intacct, iMIS, and Bill.com for various accounting tasks.
• Execute balance sheet reconciliations and ensure audit readiness.
• Prepare and post general journal entries independently, with an understanding of posting dates.
• Process invoices using Bill.com efficiently and accurately.
• Manage daily tasks autonomously, ensuring real-time recording of transactions.
• Collaborate with the Controller, asking questions proactively to resolve any issues.
• Understand and manage the flow of cash and accounts, particularly related to iMIS deposits.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
• Proficiency in Sage Intacct, iMIS, and Bill.com is required.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and audit procedures.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Effective communication skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
