Curie Co is looking for a sales person with a strong technical background in protein based food and beverage ingredients (dairy, alternative protein applications, and meat). The ideal candidate will influence customers to apply Curie Co's novel process aids and ingredients to food and beverage products. The successful candidate is expected to create and build client relationships while initiating interaction to obtain projects.

In addition, the candidate would contribute to the marketing, market planning, and technical development of products and client services. Assist in developing and facilitating the proposal process for specific clients including presentations, project development, proposal writing, and contract negotiations.

 

Responsibilities

  • Make customer contacts in research, application development, supply chain and marketing levels with customers and prospective customers.
  • Researching and developing lists of potential customers to close sales and determine market strategies & goals for each client.
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations and close sales in a professional and effective manner by:
    • developing sales proposals for customers on technical products & services;
    • making regular sales calls to develop relationships and follow up on leads
    • establishing long-term, ongoing, repeat relationships;
    • attend trade shows as assigned throughout the year to promote product portfolio and develop project initatives;
    • meeting established sales quotas and revenue goals;
    • resolving problems with products and ingredient systems.
  • Participate in sales forecasting, sales planning, and CRM in an effective timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff and customers. Keeping internal team informed of all activity, including timely preparation of reports.
Qualifications
  • B.S. in Food Science, technical, or business discipline.
  • 5-7 years in a sales/business development role in food additive products (e.g. enzymes, texturant systems).
  • Strong negotiation and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent oral/written communication: well developed presentation skills & excellent customer relations skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of working time.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Possess experience in conventional dairy and/or plant-based dairy: dairy manufacture, fermented milk production, and cheese production.
  • Technical knowledge of enzymes, texturizing agents, or dairy, meat, alternative protein applications.
  • Use of Salesforce or other CRM systems.
  • Experience in technical and sales roles.
