Job Description

The Department of Mental Health is seeking Research Program Assistants for a project within the Center for Prevention and Early Intervention. Candidates will be required to assist in the recruitment of participants, as well as the collection of quantitative and qualitative data obtained through interviews with the preteens and their parents enrolled in the study. Successful candidates will be responsible for participating in and passing all training assessments to continue with employment.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for verifying and logging confidential data into a centralized database and communicating with the multiple participants around the preteen and parent interviews.
  • Meet regularly with the research team as part of daily debriefing meetings.
  • Maintain good working knowledge of all assigned study protocols and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with IRB and Certificate of Confidentiality regulations.
  • Collaborate with center investigators and leadership staff to efficiently move forward the center?s research projects and proposals.
  • Some evening and weekend work will be required.
  • Responsible for their travel to and from participant?s locations throughout the study.
  • Must clear Johns Hopkins and Baltimore City Public Schools criminal background and finger-printing checks.
  • Must be willing to travel in and around the Baltimore metropolitan area as needed.




Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.
  • Some related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.




Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with confidential data.
  • Experience interviewing pre-teens; as well as discussing suicidal ideations and behaviors.
  • Proficiency with laptops, tablets, computers, and MS Office applications.
  • Conducting interviews with preteens and their parents.
  • BA/BS Degree.

Starting Salary Range: $15.40 - $23.25 HRLY ($23,166 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
