Job Description
The primary purpose of the Research Assistant I position is to perform basic research functions in the field of prostate cancer and renal cell carcinoma, with a focus on how host cardiometabolic health, body composition, genomics, and the androgen receptor interact to impact treatment outcomes
Key Functions* Extract clinical data from the Electronical Medical Record for patients with prostate cancer and RCC
* Expertise with management of data within Excel
* Perform body composition analyses with automated segmentation tool (instruction by Dr. Hahn)
* Generate figures with tools such as BioRender
* Prepare draft versions of manuscripts, abstracts, and other scientific communications utilizing results of statistical analyses of data generated per above.
* Assist with data generation and processing of biospecimen analyses.
Communicates information:* Must be able to communicate results to and understand instructions from the supervisors and coworkers.
* Clear and accurate communication in English both face-to-face and over the telephone is required.
* A willingness to cooperate with other staff, students, fellows and visitors is essential.
Computer literacy (other than above):* Needs to be capable of generating electronic versions of data and images for analysis and presentation.
* Experience in cloud-based image and data management is preferred.

EDUCATION:Required: Bachelor's degree, major course work in one of the basic sciences.
Preferred: Master's degree, major course work in one of the basic sciences.
EXPERIENCE:Required: No experience.
Preferred: Experience in data extraction from Electronic Health Records and exposure to clinical research.
