Job Description

Symmetrio are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate  Radiation Oncologist  to join a multidisciplinary oncology team in Montgomery, Alabama. The ideal candidate will provide expert care in the treatment of cancer patients using radiation therapy, demonstrate a commitment to improving patient outcomes and contribute to advancing the practice of radiation oncology.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of cancer patients and develop personalized treatment plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Administer radiation therapy using advanced technologies, including 3D-CRT, IMRT, SBRT, brachytherapy, and image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT).
  • Oversee and collaborate with medical physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, and nursing staff to ensure accurate and safe delivery of treatments.
  • Monitor patient progress during and after treatment, adjusting care plans as necessary to optimize outcomes and manage side effects.
  • Participate in tumor board meetings and collaborate with surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Contribute to clinical trials and research initiatives, advancing the knowledge and practice of radiation oncology.
  • Maintain meticulous and timely documentation in compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations.
  • Engage in community outreach and education to promote cancer prevention and early detection.

Requirements

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Radiation Oncology by the American Board of Radiology or equivalent.
  • Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in Alabama (or eligibility to obtain one).
  • Proficiency in modern radiation therapy techniques and technologies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-centered approach to care.
  • Dedication to ongoing professional development and education.
