Job Description

This position is a non-telework position located in Pearblossom.


Under the direction of the Hydroelectric Plant (HEP) Electrical Supervisor and the guidance of Hydroelectric Plant Electrician II; safely performs electrical installations, maintenance, repair, modifications, and reconditioning of all electrical equipment and apparatus of a large hydroelectric installation in hydroelectric generating and/or pumping plants, aqueduct facilities and other related project facilities. May do general switching at remote unattended stations for the purpose of performing general maintenance.

Must have a valid California Class C license as incumbent will be required to operate automotive vehicles on public roadways, travel to remote areas within the field division is necessary to perform the requirements of this position.

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and supportive team player who can also effectively work independently; demonstrate initiative and be a self-starter. Candidate should also possess the ability to work effectively with others to promote a positive work environment. Candidate should possess knowledge and experience working as a journeyman in electrical maintenance in commercial, fossil/hydro nuclear or similar fields and utility/pumped storage operations, military/merchant marine propulsion/generating plant operations; must have experience with maintenance and installation of motors, motor starters, control circuit and system monitoring. Experience and knowledge of reading blueprints as well as experience in electrical installation, maintenance and repair, and maintenance of 4160 or above AC motors/generators is highly desirable.
