Job Description

Overview : We are looking for a compassionate and experienced caregiver to provide personalized care for individuals living with dementia. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with clients who have cognitive impairments and be skilled in managing behavioral symptoms, ensuring safety, and promoting well-being.

Key Responsibilities :

• Assist with daily personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility support.
• Monitor and manage the client's physical and emotional health, providing a safe and supportive environment.
• Provide companionship and engage in meaningful activities tailored to the client's cognitive abilities, helping to stimulate mental function and reduce feelings of confusion or isolation.
• Administer medication as prescribed 
• Maintain a routine and structured environment to support the client's needs and reduce anxiety or confusion.
• Provide emotional support and reassurance, being sensitive to the client's feelings and changes in behavior.
• Work with the family and healthcare team to monitor the client's condition and report any significant changes.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment, including light housekeeping tasks (e.g., laundry, tidying up).

Qualifications :

• Previous experience as a caregiver, CNA, or in a healthcare role, with experience caring for individuals with dementia.
• Knowledge and understanding of dementia, including Alzheimer's disease and other cognitive impairments, and experience in managing related symptoms.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with the client, family members, and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to provide emotional support while maintaining patience and empathy.
• Ability to remain calm and responsive in challenging situations.
• Ability to follow care plans and manage daily routines.
• Valid driver's license 

Preferred :

• At least one year of experience
• Experience with memory care or behavioral interventions for individuals with dementia.
• Knowledge of non-medical approaches to dementia care (e.g., music therapy, reminiscence therapy).

Benefits :

• $15-$16 per hour
