Join GDIT’s Intelligence and Homeland Security Division and DHS Sector as the Operations Manager supporting DHS and other national security programs. In this role, you’ll have a unique opportunity to support the critical missions of our DHS customers, coordinate and ensure performance across our diversified IT and mission portfolio, partner with our Business Development, Capture and CTO teams to manage business operations and coordinate talent acquisition and development activities. HOW A SENIOR OPERATIONS MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Key responsibilities for Operations Manager role will include:
Aligning teams, setting and managing goals, executing sector, division, and corporate strategic initiatives, and improving business processes across the sector.
Analyzing and providing guidance on our current processes and workflows to help the sector run efficiently and effectively.
Analyzing budgets for equipment and support need to ensure our contracts and programs continuously perform at their peak.
Creating business and operations strategies to achieve targets and key sector objectives.
Keeping current with business and economic trends to forecast how the business will need to adapt and change over time.
Providing and managing customer relationships and technical oversight of the portfolio, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and employee engagement
Coordinating activities and resourcing between sector growth and operations teams to ensure efficient application of resources across opportunities.
Creating briefing materials and business intelligence reports to improve customer interactions and value.
Experienced in PowerPoint, SharePoint and Excel.
Developing relationships across GDIT functional, growth, and operations teams, industry partners, and customers.
Act as the primary operational interface with key internal and external stakeholders, serving as HSS point of contact for Corporate and Division data calls, coordinating through Sector to attain compliance
Support the Sector VPGM in planning high-profile meetings, employee engagement activities, and other events and/or engagements as needed.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bachelor's Degree in information technology, business, or a related discipline is required.
5 or more years of experience leading small to medium sized teams
Exceptional judgement, discretion and proven ability to anticipate issues and proactive in nature in trying to address
In-depth knowledge of the DHS mission and market.
Ability to coordinate and manage the activities related to sector operations and strategy
Ability to effectively engage with C-suite leadership
Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, growth-focused environment
Ability to motivate teams to perform exceptionally over long stretches of time and in challenging situations
Ability to communicate exceptionally, including customer and board-level briefings
Other Qualifications & Experience
Working relationships with current DHS employees and potential teaming partners
Knowledge of homeland security challenges and solutions, as well as DHS relationship to the intelligence community and law enforcement partners.
Experience serving the broader DHS market
Some degree of business acumen and exposure and/or experience to government contracting
Occasional travel in the US
Prior experience as a DHS Federal Employee a plus
DHS EoD a plus
