Working Conditions

This position in located in the Riverpoint Marketplace area of West Sacramento (10 minutes from downtown), near the IKEA. Our building offers a free parking lot to employees and is within walking distance of numerous restaurants and shops.

This position is eligible for a hybrid telework option, in accordance with CAL FIRE’s telework policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Hardware repair requires occasional lifting of PC’s and printers which should not exceed 40 pounds. Position requires up to 5% statewide overnight travel. May be required to work beyond normal hours based on operational requirements.

SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONNAIRE

Supplemental Questionnaire for Information Technology Specialist I

Position Number 541-021-1402-057

The Supplemental Questionnaire serves as documentation of each candidate’s ability to  present information clearly and concisely in writing. With no more than two pages in  length and 12-point font, please address the following questions:

1. Describe experience in designing and implementing complex network architectures. Provide  examples of network infrastructure you have implemented, including details of the  technologies used.

2. Describe your proficiency with networking protocols.

3. What measures do you consider essential for maintaining the security of a corporate  network?

4. How do you proactively monitor network performance, and what tools do you use for this  purpose? Provide specific examples from your experience in overseeing these activities,  including the complexity level and the practices you have implemented.

5. Describe your experience organizing, leading, or facilitation of a project or assignment.  Explain the project or assignment, your role, and the steps you took to achieve a positive  outcome.

6. Describe your experience with establishing collaborative relationships internally and  externally and resolving disagreements between and/or among multiple stakeholders at  various levels.
