Job Title: Medical Office Clerk
Location: 10th Medical Group, U.S. Air Force Academy, CO, 80840
Work Schedule: Monday Friday, 8- or 10-hour shifts between 0700 1700; 40 hours per week
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Experience: Minimum of 6 months of relevant administrative/clerical experience within the last 12 months, preferably in healthcare. Proficient in computers; ability to type 30 40 words per minute.
License/Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Other Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen; ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Responsibilities:
Perform general clerical and administrative support functions within the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
Maintain and organize medical files, records, and correspondence in accordance with clinic policies and HIPAA requirements.
Enter, update, and manage patient data in electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Prepare, process, and distribute reports, forms, and official documents as required.
Provide front desk and reception support, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, greeting patients, and directing them to appropriate services.
Assist in preparing patient notices such as appointment reminders, cancellations, or rescheduling notifications.
Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive patient information under HIPAA and DoD regulations.
Support medical staff with administrative workflow by filing, copying, scanning, and routing records.
Monitor office supplies and assist with requisitioning as needed to maintain continuous clinic operations.
Perform other related administrative duties as assigned to support the healthcare team and ensure smooth daily operations.
