Duties and Responsibilities

• Schedule and confirm appointments, ensuring effective communication with patients.
• Conduct insurance verification of benefits and eligibility to streamline patient intake processes.
• Maintain comprehensive medical records utilizing EHR software to support clinical accuracy and patient confidentiality.
• Keep examination rooms clean and prepared for patient visits and various medical procedures.
• Assist in surgical procedures, providing necessary support to surgeons and other medical staff.
• Support the doctor during clinic hours, managing patient flow and ensuring all medical supplies are readily available.
• Occasionally rotate between front and back office roles to support overall office operations and enhance service delivery.
• Provide excellent patient care with a consistent customer service attitude, ensuring a positive experience for each patient.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in a back office or similar role; experience in vascular surgery practice is an asset.
• Knowledge of using EHR software, with a preference for candidates experienced in AthenaOne.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, capable of maintaining accurate and detailed clinical documentation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proficiency in both English and Spanish highly preferred.
• A strong work ethic and a positive team-oriented attitude.
• Formal training or certification as a Medical Assistant is required.
• Commitment to adhering to privacy laws and maintaining confidentiality pertaining to patient information.
