Title: Java Developer

Location: Remote

Rate: $55/hr W2

Duration: 12 months

We are looking for a skilled Java Developer with hands-on experience in building robust and scalable solutions leveraging Kafka, Kubernetes (K8s), MongoDB, JDBC, and Spring frameworks. The ideal candidate will have expertise in developing Kafka-based clients running as Kubernetes services and a deep understanding of distributed systems. You will work closely with our engineering team to design, develop, and maintain high-performance applications that meet business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain Java applications with a focus on Kafka-based clients deployed as Kubernetes services.
• Implement efficient data pipelines and real-time streaming solutions using Kafka.
• Develop and manage RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot.
• Build and optimize database interactions with MongoDB and JDBC for high performance and scalability.
• Create and manage deployment configurations for Kubernetes-based microservices.
• Leverage Spring frameworks (e.g., Spring Core, Spring Data, Spring Cloud) to streamline development and integration.
• Collaborate with DevOps and SRE teams to ensure smooth CI/CD processes and application scalability.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize applications to ensure reliability and performance.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and architecture discussions to improve development processes.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to the tech stack.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience in Java development.
• Expertise in Kafka, including building producers, consumers, and stream processing clients.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes, including deploying and managing Java-based services.
• Strong knowledge of MongoDB, including schema design and performance tuning.
• Experience with JDBC for database connectivity and operations.
• Solid experience with Spring frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Cloud).
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architecture.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or ArgoCD.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Kafka Streams or other stream processing frameworks.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration beyond Kubernetes.
• Understanding of NoSQL and relational databases beyond MongoDB.
• Experience with API design and implementation, including REST or gRPC.
• Experience with Spring Security and Spring Integration for advanced use cases.
