Job Summary

W e are seeking a dedicated and reliable Janitor to maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of designated buildings and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will be physically capable of performing tasks such as cleaning, organizing, and operating heavy-duty equipment while ensuring all areas remain safe, clean, and hygienic.

Job Description

• Perform basic cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, dusting, polishing furniture, and cleaning glass.
• Clean and maintain laboratory equipment as necessary.
• Ensure bathrooms are cleaned, sanitized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
• Regularly inspect and maintain janitorial supplies, informing the supervisor when additional materials are needed.
• Operate heavy-duty equipment such as carpet shampooers, steam cleaners, and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Assist in maintaining the exterior of the building, including tasks such as removing trash and debris from the surrounding area.
• Follow safety and health standards, using the proper cleaning supplies and equipment for each task.
• Respond to cleaning requests promptly and manage time effectively to maintain cleanliness throughout the workday.

Skills Required

• Moderate physical fitness and ability to stay on feet for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, climb, and move heavy equipment as required.
• Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with cleaning products and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions from supervisors.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
• Capable of operating heavy-duty cleaning equipment.
• Work may be performed during daytime or evening hours, depending on the facility’s needs.
• Work may be conducted in varying temperatures and environments, including both indoor and outdoor areas.

Education/Certification/Training

• Highschool diploma or GED

Pay Rate

• $20 per hour
