Position Summary

The IT Support and Cyber Security Intern is part of a special team of IT professionals responsible for supporting a Network of 500+ users and 60+ locations. This position is critical to the daily operations of the company and the support of our customers. The position will report directly to the Director of IT and will assume the responsibility for the network associated devices including, desktops, laptops, tablets, monitors, printers, headsets, copier connectivity and other specialty devices that have embedded technology. This position is responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting these devices and tracking all the associated assets along with device obsolescence. The position is responsible for working with the Cyber Security products suites. Internal customer satisfaction is a key measurement of this position.

Primary Duties

  • Manage the creation of all accounts for new employees including access to corporate tools and systems for all users.
  • Administrator and maintenance on network printers and copiers
  • Ability to follow through on support tickets when requests are outside entities.
  • Maintain positive impression to end users during high stress situations.
  • Full knowledge of the corporate procedures and applications.
  • Order Entry Software Management
  • Teamwork is essential – must be willing and able to work with all MFCP staff with a good attitude.
  • Utilize good communication skills and present yourself in a professional manner.
  • Utilize your time and assets wisely.
  • Actively seek out and suggest ideas for changes that will enhance departmental and/or company effectiveness and profitability.
  • Comply with all company safety policies and procedures. Report all injuries to your supervisor. Report any safety violations, questions or concerns to your manager.
  • Assist in Cyber Security operations
  • Resolve detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high security standard.
  • Assist with Cyber Security software product systems, address alerts and incidents found through Artic Wolf, Dark Trace and EDR our products.
  • Install and maintain cyber security software products on the MFCP network.
  • Understand MFCP’s Cyber Security incident response process.

Basic Requirements

  • 2 years customer service experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Have an advanced knowledge of computers and day-to-day business software including Microsoft Office products.
  • Individual must be a team player.
  • Must promote goodwill both internally and externally, inter-departmentally.
  • College graduate or student working towards a 4 year degree with one year related experience and/or training
  • Individual must complete training courses as required by the company to ensure they have proper product knowledge.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the industries we serve.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Physical Demands And Work Environment

  • Work is generally completed in an office environment. Frequent sitting, computer work and phone use are required, with occasional walking, standing, bending and lifting up to 20 pounds.
