Minimum qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in investigations.
- 6 years of experience conducting investigations, including threat/risk mitigation, investigative interviewing, and data analysis to provide solutions and reports.
Preferred qualifications: - Investigative or interview certification from a nationally or internationally recognized organization.
- Experience managing projects from ideation to implementation while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and leveraging data to draw solutions.
- Experience establishing relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional partners.
- Ability to guide and develop junior team members by leveraging security expertise.
About The Job As an Investigator on the Security Investigations and Assessments team, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive fact-finding investigations and security assessments to protect Google. This role involves addressing a broad range of issues, from internal policy breaches and intellectual property leaks to fraud and organized criminal activity. You will leverage your extensive experience in investigative interviewing and strong investigative abilities to uncover key facts.
A core function of this role is to deliver holistic outcomes that provide objective, evidence-based findings and actionable recommendations. You will work in close partnership with various teams, including Security Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, and People Operations, to develop strategies that prevent, detect, and deter future security issues. This is a position where you will confidently present findings to all levels of the organization and demonstrate adaptability in a changing environment.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $125,000-$183,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities - Resolve investigations and assessments involving significant violations of company policies, including fraud, misconduct, and other inappropriate business conduct.
- Conduct thorough investigative interviews and provide detailed reports that summarize key findings and recommendations to management.
- Identify process deficiencies that could lead to inappropriate business conduct, and develop new protocols and policies to mitigate those weaknesses.
- Build and maintain relationships with domestic and international law enforcement, government counterparts, and private sector peers.
- Manage crises and provide threat assessment services by collecting and evaluating information to form and execute on appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
