Job Description

Position Summary:

The Energy Intake Specialist provides direct support to clients applying for energy assistance and related programs. This role involves assisting with applications, verifying documentation, answering inquiries, and ensuring timely processing to help individuals maintain essential utility services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist clients in completing Energy Assistance Program applications at the office & outreach sites
• Answer client and vendor questions regarding program eligibility, benefit levels, and payment methods.
• Verify or help applicants assemble required documentation for application submission.
• Review completed forms for accuracy and completeness before data entry.
• Follow up on incomplete applications and pending documentation.
• File applications and respond to correspondence and reports.
• Communicate with utility vendors regarding client accounts and payments.
• Provide intake services and assist clients with certification for other agency-contracted energy programs.
• Determine client eligibility and authorize emergency payments to ensure fuel deliveries and restoration of services.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of office experience, preferably in customer service or high-volume environments.

• Skills: - Strong phone and computer skills (Windows proficiency required).

  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with clients, vendors, and public/private representatives.
  • Maintain a strong customer service mindset.

• Other Requirements: - Longevity and reliability within work history are essential.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
