The ACLU seeks applicants for the full-time term-limited position of Instructional Designer in the National Knowledge and Learning team of the ACLU’s National office in New York, NY. This is a two-year term-limited position. This is a hybrid role that has in-office requirements of two (2) days per week or eight (8) days per month.
The Business Operations and Support Services department, in the office of the Chief Operating Officer, works to enable organizational and operational effectiveness by partnering with ACLU staff across the enterprise to develop core business operations, training programs, and support services needed to maximize resources, evaluate and mitigate risk, and achieve the organization’s strategic goals. As part of the Business Operations and Support Services department, the National Knowledge and Learning team works to provide clear, easy to access, rich learning experiences for ACLU staff nationwide. Our team focuses on building the organization wide vision for learning, including setting standards and creating consistency, collaboration and community within a decentralized training program. We partner with teams across the organization to identify learning priorities, design and implement impactful learning experiences, and provide ongoing learner support to ensure the long-term success of our training programs. We are a small team working to lead an exciting cross-functional partnership within the organization that is still growing and expanding. This position is part of a collective bargaining unit. It is represented by ACLU Staff United (ASU). What You'll Do Reporting to the Director of National Knowledge & Learning , the Instructional Designer will design, create and implement high quality learning experiences for ACLU staff nationwide. The person in this role will work in close partnership with other members of the National Knowledge and Learning team, as well as subject matter experts across the organization, with the goal of advancing learning and professional development opportunities nationwide. In addition, the person in this role will work in our Learning Management System, leading new, innovative LMS projects and collaborating with our LMS admin and other teams to ensure needs are met within the system. The ideal candidate for this position is ideas-driven, passionate about organizational learning and has an interest in both instructional design and learning technology. The annual salary for this position is $123,360(Level G) , reflecting the salary of a position based in New York, NY. Salaries are subject to a regional pay adjustment if authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
