Under general supervision, the Illustrator and Art Designer performs complex illustrator and graphic design work, including but limited to preparation of reports, flyers, brochures, graphs, charts, infographics, ads, maps, signage, banners, event collateral, large format displays, announcements, and web and social media graphics.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
Four (4) years of professional experience in graphic design or commercial art, which must include journey-level experience using a desktop publishing (DPT) platform (Mac or PC) with associated scanners, printers, and software.
Substitution:
Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis. One year full-time employment is equivalent to 2000 hours (2000 hours of qualifying work experience is based on a 40 hours work week.) Any overtime hours that you work above forty (40) hours per week are not included in the calculation to determine full-time employment.
License or Certification: Possession of a valid California driver’s license (CA driver’s license must be obtained prior to appointment).
