Job Title: Entry-Level IT support Technician

Location: Littleton, MA (other locations in MA as needed)

Job Type: Full-Time 40 hours per week Monday through Friday, non-exempt hourly

Department: IT

Reports To: IT Manager

Schedule:  Full-time, Monday through Friday with rotating on-call schedule. Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required for special projects or emergencies. Job site may change with or without notice due to operational needs. Locations to include Danvers, Gardner, Littleton, and/or Woburn.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our IT team as a Level 1 Support Technician. The role involves providing first-line technical assistance to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and assisting with basic network tasks including wire running, equipment deployment and troubleshooting, and acting as on-site support for retail locations as-needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to help desk tickets, emails, and phone calls in a timely and professional manner both in person and remotely.
  • Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic software, hardware, and network issues.
  • Assist with user account setup, password resets, and access permissions.
  • Document issues and resolutions in the help desk system.
  • Escalate complex issues to Level 2 support or appropriate IT staff.
  • Assist with wire running, cable management, and physical workstation setups.
  • Maintain inventory of IT equipment and supplies.
  • Follow company IT policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; prior technical experience preferred
  • Basic understanding of Windows OS, Microsoft Office, Networking, and common IT tools.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and grow
  • This role requires the use of your own personal vehicle to travel between locations independently and as needed. Mileage reimbursement is provided at .30/mile.

  Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with help desk ticketing systems (e.g., Spiceworks, Freshdesk, or similar).
  • Basic networking knowledge (e.g., IP addressing, routers, switches).
  • Experience with wire running and network equipment deployment.
  • Experience working within Unifi network systems

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move 50lbs as needed.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to climb ladders or utilize lifts
  • Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and crouch as needed.
  • Ability to climb stairs or ladders when accessing network/IT equipment areas.
  • Lift and carry equipment, computers, or peripherals typically weighing up to 25–50 pounds.
  • Move and position equipment such as servers, monitors, and networking hardware.
  • Use hands and fingers for typing, handling cables, small components, and tools.
  • Fine motor skills for tasks like connecting wires, replacing parts, or repairing systems.
  • Visual acuity to read technical manuals, computer screens, and small print.
  • Distinguish colors for cable identification and diagnostic lights.
  • Ability to hear and understand verbal instructions and audible signals from equipment.
  • Work in office environments, server rooms, or data centers with variable temperatures and noise levels.
  • May need to travel between worksites or within facilities.
