Job Description



Responsibilities:

  • Review and negotiate legal documents related to projects, customers, subcontractors, and other business partners, ensuring they comply with federal and state laws and achieve business objectives.
  • Conduct regular audits of existing vendor agreements and customer contracts to both understand the company's commercial position and work towards more advantageous positions and terms.
  • Monitor risk exposure between owner and subcontractor and vendor agreements related to warranty terms to identify and remove or mitigate exposure. 
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure contracts align with company policies and risk management strategies.
  • Oversee, track, and participate in the management/flow of contracts and contract exhibits after the project has been awarded through full contract execution. 
  • Work with project teams to create contract specific exhibits.
  • Build and maintain outside legal relationships required to understand and navigate contractual risk.
  • Provide ongoing contract management support and training top Preconstruction and Operations groups, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements with both internal personnel and external stakeholders.
  • Review and approve Non-Disclosure Agreements. 
  • Be the KE champion for improving legal processes and workflow.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in law, Business Administration, or a related field. A Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal qualification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in regulatory compliance, legal research, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years working with construction contracts is highly preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of the Inflation Reduction Act, Illinois Shines Program, and Apprenticeship requirements is preferred but not required.

Pay Range:  $80,000 to $110,000/year
