Wayne's Foods Plus is a small town family-owned grocery store since 1975. We have 3 locations in Danbury, Webster, and Luck Wisconsin.

Cashier

Part time with the possibility of additional Full time hours.

Reports to: Customer Service Manager, Store Manager or Night Manager

Department: Grocery/Service

Position Summary: This position is responsible for operating a cash register and checkout stand efficiently and courteously; conform with front end procedures and company policies that will ensure customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Scans or rings grocery orders accurately and efficiently.
2. Receive payment by cash, check, credit/debit cards, SNAP, EWIC or charges.
3. Ensure customers’ groceries are fresh and sealed properly.
4. Memorizes and utilizes PLU codes accurately.
5. Always assure the security of cash drawer.
6. Follow all voided sales procedures and policies while informing customers what you are doing.
7. Enforce security policies including company shoplifting policy, associate purchase policy and bottom of the basket policy.
8. Keeps current on weekly ad and advertised specials.
9. Counts cash drawer prior to and following shift changes.
10. Makes cash drops as needed and ensures they are put into safe.
11. Knowledge of WIC and SNAP programs.
12. Follow all company policies and procedures.
13. Display a positive attitude and greet all customers kindly.
14. Be observant of your surroundings and report all safety risks or issues and any illegal activity including robbery, theft, or fraud.
15. Promote trust and respect among your co-workers.
16. Notify Management of any customer or employee accidents. 

Supplemental Job Functions:

1. Checks in and stocks merchandise accurately from truck delivery.
2. Occasionally assisting the service counter accurately by being able to perform additional services such as video rentals, lottery, gift card activations, and DNR or motor vehicle licenses.
3. Assist in stocking merchandise.
4. Assist in general housekeeping in and around work areas including, but not limited to sweeping, vacuuming, washing windows, facing merchandise, grabbing carts, bagging, and cleaning bathrooms.
5. Check-in, set up and clean tanning beds and the tanning room.
6. Answer tanning questions and provide information on procedures and policies.
