The Office of Innovation & Technology (OIT) is the central IT agency for the City of Philadelphia headed by the Chief Information Officer (CIO). OIT oversees all major information and communications technology initiatives for the City of Philadelphia - increasing the effectiveness of the information technology infrastructure, where the services provided are advanced, optimized, and responsive to the needs of the City of Philadelphia’s businesses, residents, and visitors. OIT responsibilities include: identifying the most effective approach for implementing new information technology directions throughout city government; improving the value of the city’s technology assets and the return on the city’s technology investments; ensuring data security continuity; planning for continuing operations in the event of disruption of information technology or communications services; and supporting accountable, efficient and effective government across every city department, board, commission and agency. Job Description The GIS/Business Intelligence Developer Analyst is responsible for the creation, analysis, and maintenance of various spatial datasets, tabular datasets, and applications using the ArcGIS suite of desktop products, Python scripting, and Oracle SQL Developer.The GIS/Business Intelligence Developer Analyst will publish web maps, model workflows, generate and analyze statistics from the department’s relational database of permit, licensing and code enforcement records. The Business Intelligence/GIS Developer Analyst will also execute Oracle SQL database queries and construct views and joins to support analytical tasks and reports.The successful candidate can look forward to assisting the Licenses & Inspections GIS/Business Intelligence Developer Analyst Manager and Supervisor in developing mapping, dashboards, and other business intelligence related applications for field work by the department. The candidate will also train staff in the use of these applications.
