Job Description

We are seeking a bachelor's level Clinician to join our Recovery and Housing division.

The clinician will engage and assess participants of the Supportive Housing Program using a trauma-informed, person-centered approach. They will complete eligibility and intake assessments and write Adult Comprehensive Assessments and Individualized Action Plans with the participants' strengths, goals, and hopes at the forefront of treatment planning. The Clinician will assess participants for risk and engage in safety planning with a harm-reduction lens. They'll support the Supportive Housing team in assessing participant needs and providing trauma-informed interventions and complete documentation thoroughly and in a timely manner. The Clinician will perform responsibilities professionally, in accordance with MHA’s Core Values (Respect, Integrity, and Compassion), policies, practices, program funding and applicable regulatory agency guidelines.

Schedule: M-F 9am-5pm

  • Team Meetings: First Tuesday of the month (10am-11:30am) and every Thursday from 9:30am-10:30am

Position’s Essential Functions

· Complete eligibility assessments for referred participants

· Complete intake assessments at time of enrollment

· Complete risk assessments and safety planning with a harm-reduction lens

· Complete initial Adult Comprehensive Assessments and Individualized Action Plans and update every six months

· Support the Supportive Housing team in assessing participant needs and providing trauma-informed interventions

· Use a trauma-informed, person-centered, and harm-reduction approach in engaging with participants

 

 

 

Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Valid driver’s license, sufficient automobile insurance, acceptable driving record, and a safe reliable vehicle during working hours.

· Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time, prioritize tasks, take initiative, follow through, and work cooperatively as a member of a team.

· Good oral, written, computer, and organizational skills.

· Demonstrated ability to adapt to the changing needs of the program participants.

· Strong interpersonal skills, patience, caring, and compassion.

· Must be able to pass and maintain certifications in CPR and first aid.

· Must be at least twenty-one years old.

 

Required Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in human services or relevant field required

· Requires six months of applicable experience. Experience with individuals with mental health and/or substance use challenges or individuals with a history of housing instability preferred.

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee is required to speak, smell, and hear. They are occasionally required to kneel, sit, push, pull, reach, and climb. They are also required to use their hands and fingers to grasp, hold, type, and write. The employee is occasionally required to climb stairs and lift up to forty pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include color distinction, visual inspection, visual perception, and eye/hand coordination.

 While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to inclement weather, vehicles, blood-borne pathogens, and computers/monitors. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. The majority of time for this job is spent indoors.
