Job Description

As the AV installation Technician, you will be the onsite leader for the installation of audio, video, and lighting integrated systems. This is a “hands on” position that ensures established project design and deadlines are met.

Essential Job Duties:

• Set-up complete AV systems based on a project’s scope of work, within the expected timeframe and to the company’s workmanship standards.
• Interacts with customers to address questions, problems and or concerns.
• Trains customers on systems, as needed.
• When needed, supervises and directs the work of other technicians (both S&L employees and outside contractors) to ensure adherence to the project scope of work, deadlines and workmanship standards.
• Timely reports on-site risks and issues to the Project Manager to ensure efficient resolution to meet a project’s timeline and budget.
• Keeps track of time spent on each job assignment and accurately reports this information through the company’s established system.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• 3+ years of experience in audio, video, and lighting integration installation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve common and complex installation issues.
• Ability to completely wire a full-size rack to company standards.
• Proficient in reading and deciphering blueprints and schematics including the ability to interpret signal flow and wiring diagrams.
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
• Skilled in soldering techniques.
• Experience with various techniques used in pulling wire and cable.
• Considerable knowledge of low voltage electronics.
• CTS certification preferred but not required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the proven ability to effectively resolve conflicts.
• Prior experience working effectively as a team leader and directing the work of others.
• Ability to quickly process information, prioritize job tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work cooperatively and effectively within a team environment.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets the company’s insurance standards and have transportation to travel between sites.
